This is the question and suggestion board. You don't have to be a new member or a guest to post here, but usually that's who does. A staff member (or a helpful member) will answer you as quickly as possible.

Sub-boards: FIRST TIME, LINK BACK, ACCEPTED

In the warmer parts of the year, this clearing has a small stream running through the center of it. It's the first thing a new comer will find when entering Decessus. Usually, there is a stallion or two just waiting for a stranger to come along.

Few here believe in dying of natural causes. A soft, enlongated death is rarely wished on one's worst enemy. Therefor, when a horse decides it's his time, this is where he comes. It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

Nothing grows here. It is said that thousands of years ago, the gods became angry with the equine. They caused lightening to strike the ground, killing everything with a mile radius. This is just a foal's tale, but the name stuck.

It is unusual for a mare and foal to be kicked out of a herd. These are the only exiles not confined to the wastelands. Stallions are rarely permitted entry here, as it is a safe place.

In reality, these are simply the most southern mountains. During the warmest part of the year, a very small, very high, very cold pass will open through the mountains. Rarely is it used.

The mountains' location causes part of the eastern lands to be a desert. It's not a particularly brutal one, but it hardly ever rains here and the ground is mostly a soft sand. Dust storms are commonplace.

Since the sun sets in the west, directly over the western oceans, the water appears to catch fire and burn until the sun disappears completely, hence the name of the shoreline.

It is said that Alafia was a great stallion and the hills were named after him. Whether that is true or not, no one alive knows. However, the hills are covered in alfalfa, wheat, and corn. Most likely, at one time, the area was the human's farmland.

There is a small island off the southern coast. It's close enough that a strong horse can swim to it. It's not very large, but completely free of predators. It could possibly sustain the entire population of Decessus for a few days.

Just over half of this forest lies in the southern lands. The other part is in the east, though they call it something different. There aren't many rose bushes here, but this is the only place they grow.
